Teaching Excellence
Each of our classes features the team of a lead teacher and 2 assistant teachers, providing a 1:6 teacher to student ratio, which is well above the national average.
Main Street is proud to implement The Creative Curriculum, an evidence based, well respected comprehensive curriculum. Through a series of hands-on, child-focused, differentiated studies, the children experience learning as an active, inquiry-based pursuit.
In addition, we know the importance of children’s social/emotional development; we use the award-winning program Al’s Pals – Kids Making Healthy Choices. This resiliency-based curriculum focuses on children’s personal, social, and emotional skills, teacher training, and family engagement. The puppet play and roleplaying spark children’s interest and provide a strong social skills foundation.

We offer many ways to for families and teachers to stay connected:
Photos and information are posted daily through an education/communication mobile app.
Teachers post their class’ lesson plans weekly.
Main Street’s Facebook page includes photos and informational reminders.
Parent conferences are scheduled several times a year; we meet more often at the request of families or teachers.
Our Commitment to You & Your Children
Most importantly, decisions are made with children’s cognitive and social-emotional needs in mind. For example, we require that our teachers complete at least twice the number of teacher training hours per year, because we know it boosts children’s learning. Providing teachers dedicated planning time is a priority, and the quality of activities and interactions in our classrooms shows that. We take seriously our goals to inspire learning, encourage exploration and empower children.
