“Eagles” program provides extended care to our young elementary age learners.
The Typical School Year
In addition to our pre-school program, Main Street offers a school-age childcare “Eagles” program.
During a typical school year, this program is for children that attend Daniels Run Elementary School. This program includes:
Before and after-school care
(including on FCPS’ early dismissal and late start days)Homework assistance
Playground time
Special enrichment partnerships such as a year-long residency with the Fairfax Art League and the Junior League of Northern Virginia’s Kids in the Kitchen nutrition program
Additional Enrichment (music, art and special projects)
Each morning and afternoon, staff accompanies children to and from the bus stop.
The lead teacher and assistant(s) implement a program aligned with the needs and interests of young school age children.

During the ‘Virtual’ School Year (NOW!)
Main Street’s program includes elementary school age children that will be enrolled in the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS).
Children are attending virtual classes with their FCPS school
Children are be required to bring their chromebook or other device to log on as distributed by their school
In addition to two classroom teachers and assistants,
An Educational Assistant assists in all aspects of virtual learning
participating in live sessions,
assist with homework and asynchronous learning,
and advocate on behalf of the children when necessary.
Main Street provides all meals and snacks as part of the program, as well as
providing all the activities included in the typical school year program.
Typical Summer Program
Our expanded full-day summer program for school-age children can include
Review of grade level skills
Support for summer assignments from child’s elementary school
Mr. Kofi’s Drumming Experience and Eagles children’s performance Enrichment
Dance workshops,
Visiting professionals,
Buddy Up Program with preschoolers, and
Art lessons from The Art League of Fairfax.
